TitleScripts belonging to Ruth Dunning and Jack Allen.
DescriptionThe series contains scripts for two episodes of The Grove Family (1954-1957) belonging to Ruth Dunning, both featuring annotations and highlighting her lines. The first is from an unknown episode in which a man from the Building Society visits to inform the Grove's they have paid off their mortgage. It is missing the title page meaning the name of the episode has been lost. The second is for an episode entitled "A Home Perm" in which the family attempt to give Mrs. Grove, played by Dunning, a perm at home in order to attend an up-market restaurant in Soho with a family friend. There are further annotations altering the wording of some lines. Note the last page (pg. 19) is loose. There is a loose letter from a Benjamin Joseph White inserted at pg. 18, thought to be fan mail. Also in the file is a script for a sketch written by Tom Page entitled Boy Interest. An accompanying note reads that Jack Allen handed this script to Walter Fitzgerald, who in turn asked for it to be given to a reading committee. The fourth script is for an episode of BBC Television's Dixon of Dock Green (1955-1976) entitled "The Glass of Fury" (1961) in which Jack Allen performed as Charles Wigram, a prisoner due to be released on bail. Allen did not appear in any other episodes.
