AdminHistoryHarold Fullard was Cartographic Director of George Philip, publishers, and past chairman of the International Cartographic Association Publications Committee. He was also external examiner for the Diploma in Cartography at Oxford Polytechnic from 1964 - 1982. His personal collection of atlases, textbooks and journals, was assembled over a period of 50 years.
The collection consisted initially of more than 400 internationally published atlases and a similar quantity of other relevant materials. Subsequently the collection has been integrated with the University's collection, the whole, now numbering some 1,200 items, being maintained and added to as the Harold Fullard Collection of Atlases.
