TitleA history of the works of Reynolds, by Graves & Cronin
DescriptionA. Graves and W. V. Cronin's publication 'A History of the Works of Sir Joshua Reynolds' (1899–1901, 4 volumes) was considered for many years, the definitive work on the subject. Ellis Waterhouse acquired his copy in 1935 and annotated it copiously throughout his career. He also filed within it letters, research notes, cuttings etc. of relevance to the various entries. In order to ensure its long-term preservation, this loose material has been removed from the volumes and filed separately, but its original location in the text is recorded in the catalogue.

The material in this sub-series includes the annotated published volumes and the loose material (correspondence; research notes; post cards; copies of published and unpublished articles etc,) originally filed by Waterhouse within them.

Please note - cataloguing of the loose material is an ongoing process. Please ask a member of staff if you have any questions about this.
