TitleCorrespondence files on buildings by G.E. Street
DescriptionContains mainly correspondence, much of it in Joyce's capacity as a known expert on G.E. Street but also as a member of the Victorian Society.

The first section of files [PRJ/2/1-14] are arranged alphabetically by location, as filed by Joyce. The letters concern the history and details of buildings by Street, as well as contemporary concerns such as alterations, re-development and demolition. Authors of the correspondence include members of the clergy, local historians, home owners and architectural students, often writing with specific questions or information about Street's work. Some were referred to Joyce by organisations including RIBA's British Architectural Library (Royal Institute of British Architects).

A second sequence of correspondence files [PRJ/2/15-26] are titled by county, as filed by Joyce. They contain correspondence concerning a number of buildings by Street within these counties, mainly relating to the revision and publication of Pevsner's The Buildings of England, Wales and Scotland.

Authors of the correspondence have sometimes enclosed accompanying material including photocopies of planning drawings, newspaper cuttings and photographs. These have been retained alongside the letters.
