TitleExpanded Dictionary of Victorian Architects
DescriptionPaul Joyce planned to publish a Dictionary of Victorian Architects with Professor J. Mordaunt Crook but the work was never brought to fruition.

Joyce referred to these boxes as the 'expanded' index. They contain index cards on significant Victorian architects, arranged by name. The entries consist of thorough biographical notes, bibliographical references, notes on descendants, pupils and assistants; and entries on their works detailing the construction, design and fittings. The number of index cards for each architect is substantial, ranging between eighty (Charles Barry) to over three hundred (Arthur W. Blomfield).

For a related sequence of index cards containing entries for other Victorian architects see PRJ/6/4.
