About the catalogue

The on-line catalogue is full of information relating to the Society’s distinct and diverse holdings.

Our records chronicle the changing focus of the RSA’s mission through the early collection of material and documentary evidence spanning almost 260 years. This covers contributions from members, including among others such notables as Dickens, Faraday, and Marx.

The RSA has throughout its long history focused on a wide range of issues. Our current focus is in the following areas:

  • Public service and communities
  • Learning and creativity
  • Enterprise, design and manufacturing

Our mission to enrich society through ideas and action is explored by our Action and Research Centre (ARC) which applies practical solutions to todays’ social challenges and via our ideas platform - free public events and the inspirational RSA Animate series.

To explore the development of the RSA you can search the on-line catalogue, either by using the quick search above or the advanced search option on the left hand panel.
